About Montessoraus Mama
My names Florence although I'm mostly known online as Montessoraus Mama. This blog is my very own little passion project. I'm a stay at home mummy to a terrific 3 year old named Jax (Jackson) and housewife to my enduring and ever loving husband Ben. I stumbled upon Montessori when Jax was about 6 months old, but I didn't start to implement it in our home until was around 1. Since finding it I have spent all of my free time researching and studying Montessori.
My main reason for starting this blog is because I want to help EVERYONE bring a little bit of Montessori into their homes and into their lives. I don't believe that budget, lifestyle, space or circumstance has to get in the way of the core principles of Montessori and bringing it into your life. We live in a small 2 bed property that we rent and we are a one income household. We do not have all the expensive materials and a separate playroom or any of that stuff. You don't need to either. If you can do that, it's great! But it's not necessary to bring Montessori into your home.
I was not brought up in a Montessori way, neither was my husband. But we have seen the benefits ourselves in Jax, and now with our foster daughter Caitlin (15) I have personally studied it and can see all the benefits still to come. My husband doesn't really know much in depth about Montessori but he understands the core principles and is completely on board with it.
I am now AMI certified assisstant for 3-6 ages. But mostly I am is just a mother who found Montessori one day and got real nerdy about it. I have read countless books, listened to podcasts, videos, personal conversations within the Montessori community and at this point, I could probably be a certified guide if I had the funds to actually go for the training. But right now I don't, although one day in the future I do hope to become AMI certified.
I want to use this blog and my social media outlets (they are linked on the home page or just search Montessoraus Mama) to educate about Montessori, show real life Montessori (not the perfect instagrammable kind) and most of all help every single one of you bring a bit of Montessori into your life. I truly believe it is the best thing any parent or caregiver to do for their child to help them develop and blossom in life.
So, thats me! I hope you get something from my blog and if you have any questions or suggestions I am more than open to them. Just fill out my contact form on here, or message me on social media.
I believe Montessori is for everyone, I want to help everyone bring a little more Montessori into their homes and lives.
